Iowa law authorizes broker-dealers and investment advisors to notify the Division of suspected financial exploitation and, in some cases, requires this notification. We are looking for an investigator to help us protect Iowau2019s senior investors. This isn't just a desk jobu2014it's an opportunity to lead high-stakes investigations into financial exploitation and shape the way Iowa protects its citizens. The ideal candidate is highly motivated to prevent the exploitation of older adults and approaches victims with patience, compassion, and empathy. The role requires the ability to identify fraudulent schemes and to collaborate directly with law enforcement when appropriate. It also involves direct engagement with the aging population during some of their most difficult moments, with the rewarding opportunity to help bring them closer to resolution and recovery from their victimization. The Role: Investigate:Analyze documents and conduct interviews to uncover financial fraud. Advocate:Apply applicable laws and rules to make a sound recommendation for action, if necessary. Educate:Assist in developing and delivering training to help others identify and prevent exploitation. Innovate:Work with a team that values new ideas and process improvements. This position is officially classified as an Insurance Complaint Analyst, but the core of your work will be specialized senior financial exploitation investigation. Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bacheloru2019s degree; and b. A total of three years full-time work experience in at least one of the following areas: i. Multi-line insurance adjusting or underwriting; or ii. Investigating and recognizing violations of state laws or regulations and preparing cases proving such violations for presentation at administrative hearings; or iii. Conducting research, analysis, interpreting, implementing or monitoring insurance regulations and insurance products and providing consultation and customer assistance and technical assistance to stakeholders; or iv. Business management and administration including: budget administration and analysis, regulatory and legal compliance, quality assurance, and customer service administration. 3) A total of seven years of education and/or full-time experience (as described in number two), where thirty semester hours of accredited college or university coursework in any field equals one year of full-time experience. 4) Current continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes 18 months of fulltime work in insurance regulation.
