Position Number: 009604 Department: Facilities Management (Adm) Employment Type: Permanent - Full-time Months Per Year: 12 Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Position is a critical need for direct oversight of the Grounds Staff that perform the day-to-day landscape maintenance needs throughout a large portion of Campus. Manages the largest group of Grounds Staff. This position will be the u201cofficialu201d back-up to the Grounds Superintendent when they are not available or on leave. + Position is a critical need for direct oversight of the Grounds Staff that perform the day-to-day landscape maintenance needs throughout the campus. + Manage the largest group of Grounds Staff. + This role will serve as the designated backup to the Grounds Superintendent when they are not available or on leave. Minimum Experience / Education: Bacheloru2019s Degree and four years progressive experience involving a wide variety of landscape and horticultural experience as might be gained in the development and maintenance of large parks or institutional grounds, or in managing or supervising commercial landscape enterprises or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Preferred Education Skills and Experience: + Bacheloru2019s Degree with a major in horticulture science, landscape design, or closely related field and four years progressive experience preferred. + Experience setting mid to long-range maintenance goals and objectives and prioritizing activities and tasks and preparing alternative plans to meet changing conditions and ensure timely task accomplishment. + Experience coordinating a wide variety of facility maintenance operational, diagnostic, and repair services. + Knowledge and experience with computer system(s); proficient with Google, Microsoft Office Suite and willingness to learn new programs. + Effective interpersonal and comprehensive communication skills; both verbal and written; strong attention to details with ability to foster and create an atmosphere of teamwork with coworkers, visitors, and other departments both within Facilities Management and throughout the entire campus community.
