Lead the Platform Engineering team responsible for endu2011user platform engineering, image management, endpoint protection, and desktop/mobile operating system engineering. You will drive technical direction, own platform roadmaps, and ensure reliable, secure, and scalable endu2011user computing services across FDICu2019s environment. This role requires handsu2011on technical leadership, strong vendor coordination, and the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear guidance for engineers and end users. You will play a crucial role in ensuring secure, stable, and highu2011performing endu2011user computing platforms across the enterpriseu2014supporting thousands of devices, applications, and endpoint protection technologies that enable FDIC personnel to operate effectively. u2022 Lead the Platform Engineering team responsible for desktop/mobile OS engineering, image management, endpoint protection engineering, software distribution, and unified endpoint managementu2014ensuring reliable and secure endu2011user platforms that directly support FDICu2019s mission. u2022 Collaborate with engineering teams, security teams, application owners, OEM vendors, and FDIC stakeholders to resolve complex issues, plan upgrades, and maintain compliance with FDIC policies and standards. u2022 Drive platform modernization, automation, secure baseline development, image lifecycle management, and endpoint protection improvementsu2014enhancing performance, reducing incidents, and improving user experience. u2022 Utilize advanced engineering tools and technologies including Microsoft Intune, Windows 11, Modern Policies, Virtual Desktop environments, MS Defender for Endpoint, CrowdStrike EDR, Microsoft 365 applications, Fleet RMM, Netaphor SiteAudit, HP Web Jet Admin, Kofax Autostore, Token Vault, Wise Admin Studio, PSTools, Graph API, YubiKey Manager, and vSec:CMS Admin. ADDITIONAL ROLE-SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES Platform Engineering & OS Baseline Management u2022 Develop and maintain desktop and mobile OS baseline configurations. u2022 Create and maintain Group Policies, Modern Policies, scripts, and documentation. u2022 Define OS, applications, encryption/security functionality, and image requirements. u2022 Build and maintain Core Images and Core Image profiles across multiple device models and OS versions. u2022 Support OS lifecycle management, including testing, validation, and quarterly updates. Software Packaging & Distribution u2022 Script, package, and test software applications for Windows and macOS. u2022 Manage software deployment tools and selfu2011service portals. u2022 Support offline deployment methods (USB, CDs) when required. Endpoint Protection Engineering u2022 Oversee engineering, deployment, and troubleshooting of EPP agents (e.g., McAfee, Carbon Black). u2022 Ensure EPP central management consoles and modules are functioning. u2022 Support SOC workflows, log collection, and malware containment actions. Image Engineering & Management u2022 Develop test and release plans for image validation. u2022 Coordinate with FDIC teams for application testing and image approval. u2022 Maintain offline OS installation media and support remote build processes. Platform Break u2011Fix & Tier 3 Support u2022 Provide Tier 3 engineering support for escalated desktop/mobile issues. u2022 Troubleshoot OS, application, and patching issues in collaboration with FDIC teams. Technology Roadmaps & Planning u2022 Research and evaluate new endu2011user technologies. u2022 Develop platform roadmaps and demographic user profiles. u2022 Participate in quarterly architecture/engineering planning meetings. The Platform Engineering Team Lead must have: Education : Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Required Experience : u2022 5+ years of diverse IT experience, specifically in:u2022 Microsoft Intune u2022 Windows 11 and Modern Policies u2022 Virtual Desktop environments u2022 MS Defender for Endpoint u2022 Microsoft 365 applications u2022 CrowdStrike EDR Platform u2022 Endu2011user device engineering and support u2022 Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server, desktop applications, and Wintel hardware systems. u2022 Experience working with Cloud technologies and SaaS solutions. u2022 Strong understanding of tools and processes used in managing endu2011user platforms. u2022 Work experience in a managed services IT environment is preferred. Required Technical Skills : u2022 Expertise in OS engineering, image engineering, Group Policies/Modern Policies, secure baseline development (including DISA STIGs), and endpoint protection engineering. u2022 Proficiency with the following tools (leadership-level oversight required):u2022 Intune, CrowdStrike, Defender, Endpoint Privilege Management, Fleet RMM, Netaphor SiteAudit, HP Web Jet Admin, Kofax Autostore, Token Vault, Wise Admin Studio, PSTools, Graph, YubiKey Manager, vSec:CMS Admin u2022 Strong scripting and automation skills (PowerShell preferred). u2022 Experience with ServiceNow for ticketing, change control, and service delivery. Required Skills and Abilities: u2022 Strong technical problemu2011solving skills, analytical ability, decisiveness, and sound judgment. u2022 Ability to work effectively with clients, IT management, staff, and vendors. u2022 Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly and concisely present complex technical concepts to endu2011users with varying skill levels. u2022 Strong ability to balance multiple priorities in a highu2011demand environment. Preferred Skills : u2022 Experience with Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI). u2022 Experience with secure configuration frameworks (e.g., DISA STIGs). u2022 Experience with automation/orchestration for software distribution and remediation. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
