Job Description SUMMARY The Project Coordinator isresponsible for coordinating projects, multiple laboratory operationalactivities, and acts as the point of contact between operations andinternal and external clients. Prepares test samples, readies equipmentand conducts tests under the direction of laboratory supervisor and/ormanager. Performs analysis of test results, as obtained by specificmethodologies and techniques. Develops test methods as needed.Responsible for recording, reviewing, and reporting data. JOB FUNCTIONS Coordinate execution of SGS testing and other services with locallabs and global affiliates including sample processing Performs jobticket review and monitors closing and invoicing of jobs folders Maintain tracking spreadsheets and email correspondence Coordinatesprojects and performs data collection Provides support to all staffmembers of the department, including training where appropriate Support Operations efforts with Sales, Technical and other departments May communicate with clients regarding time performance or problemsencountered in the particular analysis Assists in calibrationscheduling and other ISO 17025 related activities Prepare specimensfor use in testing, following standardized procedure Tests andanalyzes samples to determine performance properties as well as othercharacteristics Uses and operates any equipment or test apparatus inthe laboratory, with appropriate training Assists in maintenance andtroubleshooting of testing equipment Read, comprehend and execute newtest methods/standards capability added to the department operation Sets up laboratory equipment and/or instrumentation required for theanalysis of samples in accordance with TAPPI, NWSP, AATCC, ASTM, FTC,CFR, ISO, and other procedures from state and local municipalities,client proprietary procedures, and other non-routine procedures Assist in keeping inventory of laboratory chemicals and equipmentnecessary for the day-to-day functioning of the laboratory and incompiling a list of supplies to be ordered when needed Periodicanalysis of known standards and/or samples relative to various areas oftesting are employed both as a means of method validation and analyticalproficiency. The results of the analyses are recorded in theindividual's training record Other projects and tasks/duties mayalso be assigned Provide administrative and special lab performancesupport as assigned for overall department management activities Adheres to internal standards, policies, and procedures Performsother duties as assigned Qualifications EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor's Degree in a relevant SBU scientific field 2-3 years'experience with physical testing and test method development.
