Position:u00a0Aquatics Recreation Specialist (Full-Time, Exempt)Hiring Salary Range:u00a0$53,190 - $66,487Full Salary Range: $53,190 - $79,785Application Deadline:u00a01/29/2026Summary:The Aquatics Recreation Specialist supports the daily operations of (2) year-round indoor facilities and (4) outdoor pools (May-August). The roleu00a0assistsu00a0in the development and maintenance of a comprehensive aquatics program, including hiring, training,u00a0schedulingu00a0and supervising aquatics staff; overseeing programs and facility operations; and ensuring high-quality customer service and safe environments for all guests.u00a0This position requires availability for early mornings,u00a0eveningsu00a0and weekend shifts and being responsive to operations and emergencies.Job Responsibilities:- Assistu00a0in the daily operation and maintenance ofu00a0pool/facilities; supervise staff;u00a0assistu00a0in the development and implementation of goals, strategies, policies, and procedures.- Monitor and document pool maintenance, including filtration systems and water chemistry; adjust chemicals as needed and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.- Plan, coordinate, implement, and evaluate aquatic programs such asu00a0swimu00a0lessons,u00a0swimu00a0team, recreationu00a0activitiesu00a0andu00a0special events.- Schedule staff and facilities.u00a0Manage schedule and use of facility for daily programs as well as group and facility rentals and special user groups.u00a0Prepare invoicesu00a0foru00a0facility rentals andu00a0maintainu00a0accurateu00a0records and documentation.u00a0- Hire, train, schedule, supervise and evaluate part timeu00a0staff;u00a0address performance issues and support conflict resolution.- Coordinate, and conduct Lifeguarding Trainingu00a0classes, reviews, emergency drills, and in-service trainingu00a0programs.u00a0u00a0- Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment; track usage, perform audits, and order materials as needed.- Complete administrative duties including data entry into program registration, processing credits, transfers, refunds, andu00a0maintainingu00a0staff certification and performance files.- Assistu00a0with budget preparation and monitoring, track revenues andu00a0expenditures,u00a0and prepare financial reports.- Prepare purchase orders,u00a0RFP's, and invoice requests. Processu00a0payments andu00a0monitoru00a0outstanding balances. Prepare short and long-range revenue/expenditureu00a0projections andu00a0monitoru00a0revenue streams.- Assistu00a0with developing, implementing, and tracking marketing strategies to promote District programs, events,u00a0salesu00a0and promotions.u00a0- Build andu00a0maintainu00a0relationships with District employees, vendors, and community user groups to share information and coordinate programs andu00a0special events.u00a0- Prepare,u00a0updateu00a0and enforce policies and procedures; lead periodic staff meetings to share information and address questions.u00a0- Provide high-quality customer service by offering general information on District programs, responding to inquiries, resolving complaints, and surveyingu00a0guests.- Ensure public safety and cleanliness by conducting regular facility walk-throughs,u00a0identifyingu00a0and reporting maintenance needs, and addressing safety or cleanliness issuesu00a0immediately.- Follow all operations and safety procedures to prevent accidents and protect guests and staff. Respond quickly and calmly to emergencies, provide care and complete thorough Incident/Accidentu00a0reportsu00a0and communicate issues with supervisors.- Activelyu00a0participateu00a0in staff and professional meetings andu00a0trainingsu00a0to stay current in swimming pool regulations, safety requirements, trainingu00a0protocolsu00a0and industry trends.u00a0Required Experience- Bachelor's degree inu00a0a Recreation, Aquatics Management,u00a0or directly related field,u00a0twou00a0(2) yearsu00a0of directu00a0supervisory experienceu00a0of an aquatic facility,u00a0including working with pool equipment, chemicals, and staff training/supervision,u00a0and two (2) years of seasonal guarding and lessonu00a0instruction;u00a0or any equivalent combination of acceptable e ucation and years of experience.- Current Lifeguardingu00a0(CPR/AED, O2, First Aid), Lifeguardingu00a0Instructor, andu00a0Certifiedu00a0Poolu00a0Operatoru00a0or Aquatic Facility Operatoru00a0required.u00a0u00a0u00a0- Water Safety Instructor and Lifeguard Instructor Trainer certifications preferred.u00a0- Mustu00a0possessu00a0and maintain a valid Driver's License or the ability to obtain one within thirty (30) days of employment. Must beu00a0insurableu00a0by theu00a0Districtu00a0carrier at the onset and for the duration of employment.- Knowledge of principles, practices and techniques used in overseeing customeru00a0service programs, janitorial, swim lesson instruction, lifeguarding, supervision, and risk management of a swimming pool.u00a0- Strong communication skillsu00a0utilizingu00a0multiple mediums -- verbal, written, and presentation isu00a0required.- Knowledge of aquatic safety devices (rescue tubes, backboards, BVM, O2).- Knowledge of aquatic and facility operations, management, scheduling, and programming.- Knowledge of water chemistry principles as they apply to maintaining a pool.
