As part of the multidisciplinary team, this individual will also provide empathic, personalized care tou00a0clients throughout their experience u2013 including a warm welcome, supportive clinical care for the duration of the evaluation, and ensure an unparalleled care experience.u00a0 Tasks and Responsibilitiesu00a0u00a0 + Under the direction of the Medical Director,u00a0discloseu00a0genomic results to client and provideu00a0genetic counseling foru00a0clientsu00a0includingu00a0education, a comprehensive risk assessment, psychological supportu00a0 + Daily interactions withu00a0physiciansu00a0andu00a0clientsu00a0to provide pre and/or post-test genetic counseling for allu00a0client types across specialtiesu00a0 + Assistu00a0with coordination and communication of client genomic information among the care teamu00a0 + Contribute to theu00a0variant curation, clinical genomic reportu00a0writing and reviewingu00a0u00a0 + Assistu00a0with the development of educational applications and toolsu00a0 + Helpu00a0facilitateu00a0appropriate referralsu00a0and anyu00a0additionalu00a0genetic testsu00a0u00a0 + Work collaboratively with the care team tou00a0determineu00a0next steps based on genomic resultsu00a0 + Maintain positive work relationships with other technologists, practitioners,u00a0physiciansu00a0and staffu00a0 + Contribute to phenotype data collection, follow-up with clients, safetyu00a0monitoringu00a0and adherence to IRB protocolsu00a0 Minimum Qualifications (Must have)u00a0u00a0 + Masteru2019s degree in Genetic Counseling from an accredited program, or graduate degree in a related fieldu00a0 + Experience working directly with patientsu00a0and physiciansu00a0u00a0 + Certification by the American Board of Genetic Counseling or American Board of Medical Genetics.u00a0 + Must hold current Genetic Counselor Licenseu00a0in the state of Californiau00a0 + Experience in Oncology, Cardiac and/oru00a0behavioral sciencesu00a0genetics specialties preferredu00a0 + Maintains patient confidentiality and protects operations by keeping patient care information confidential and following HIPAA practicesu00a0 Preferred Qualificationsu00a0u00a0 + Previousu00a0experience providing genetic counseling for patients/research participants undergoing whole-genome sequencing.u00a0u00a0 + 3+ years' experience in genetic counseling post completion of masteru2019s degreeu00a0 + Experience in a start-up environmentu00a0u00a0 + Ability to analyze and incorporate research literature in return of genetic resultsu00a0 + Experience in variant curationu00a0 + Excellent oral/written communication skillsu00a0 + Ability to work independentlyu00a0 + Strong organizational and time management skillsu00a0 Human Longevity, Inc. is an equal opportunity employeru00a0u00a0u00a0u00a0 DISCLAIMER: The information on this description has been designed tou00a0indicateu00a0the general nature and level of work.
