Description We are looking for an Assistant Controller - Brickell/Downtown area of Miami. In this role, you will collaborate closely with ownership and leadership, cultivating skills with the opportunity for next generation succession planning. Keys to this Role: + Bachelors of Accounting + Shipping and Free Trade Zone + Travel to Puerto Rico as needed/to be discussed on candidates availability + Bi-lingual English/Spanish Location: Brickell/Downtown area Schedule: 8-5; Mon-Fri (1 day Remote) Travel to Puerto Rico needed Salary $90,000- $130,000 depending on experience Benefits: %paid Medical; 2 weeks' Vacation/grows to 3 weeks; additional sick/personal days; 401k; other perks; Free Parking Company Overview: 2nd to 3rd generation company; manufacturing, shipping and distribution of building materials; offers stability and long-term careers; this role works closely with Ownership and can be in succession planning. Responsibilities: u2022 Assist CFO with oversight of accounting operational discrepancies; reconciliations, GL and other related tasks. u2022 Support with month-end close processes and for reporting on multiple entities and locations. u2022 Prepare and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations. u2022 Oversee financial reporting and costs and taxes related to Shipping - Free Trade Zone; imports/exports. u2022 Collaborate with ownership and executives on strategic initiatives for the Puerto Rico Manufacturing location. u2022 Monitor company budgets, cash flow, and profitability to support financial decision-making. u2022 Maintain relationships with banking institutions, ensuring adherence to loan compliance and asset management. u2022 Utilize QuickBooks and inventory management systems to track and report financial data effectively. u2022 Provide insights on cost management and operational efficiency improvements. Requirements u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in Accounting or Finance. u2022 Experience with international shipping and Free Trade Zone operations. u2022 Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish. u2022 Ability to travel to Puerto Rico location.
