This position is responsible for supporting employee relations, benefits, recruiting, and a variety of other human resources functions. This position will provide support in the planning, analyzing and execution of policies, procedures, and programs.JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Assist with development and oversight of implementation of personnel policies and proceduresInterprets and applies established HR policiesensuringcompliance with Federaland State employment lawsCoach, counsel and assist supervisors and staff regarding issues and concernsAssist in conducting investigations and ensure timely and responsible resolutionAssist in maintaining and promoting a safe and healthy environment for employeesEnsure HR processes and procedures are consistently administeredMaintain HR database ensuring the accuracy of data andcompiling of HR reportsPrepare monthly and quarterly reports Keep abreast of employment law and current legislation in relation to HRRepresent the company for all unemployment hearings/claimsManage the recruitment effortsincluding: reviewing job descriptions, placing job postings on applicable recruitment platforms,participate in interviews, evaluate applicant skills, and making recommendations regarding applicant's qualifications and skillsDevelop and maintain relationshipswith universities and other recruitment sourcesParticipate and work collaboratively with the training team in the development and execution of new employee orientation programs and procedures for new hiresTrack applicants and complete quarterly statistical information regarding new hires and the onboarding processAssist with the processing of payrollParticipate in planning and execution of employee engagement events and activitiesServe as site subject matter expert for HRM systemsOnsite contact for employee benefit inquires including coordination of open enrollment process and new hire benefit orientationOther duties as assignedEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources or related field preferred; or combination of equivalent education and experience2+ years of relevant experience, preferably in manufacturingSHRM-CP or PHR certification preferredCOMPETENCIES:Working knowledgeof employment laws, COBRA, FMLA, and related state and federal regulations.Excellent communication and organizational skills.Excellentinterpersonal skills.Must be able to work on sensitive issues with discretion and a commitment to confidentiality.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple priorities.Self-directed and motivated.Ability to work flexible hours and travel (as needed).Ability to work with a diverse population.Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff.Strong PC skills includingMS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.WORKING CONDITIONS:Most of the job is performed in an office environment with some time spent on the plant manufacturing floor.EFFORT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Work is performed in an office environment with frequent contact with others. Requires prolonged sitting and frequent bending, stooping and stretching, manual dexterity, the ability to distinguish letters, occasional lifting, and the use of office equipment.
