The role may be hybrid-based from one of ouroffices in Little Rock, Fort Smith, or Fayetteville, Arkansas, or inPortland, Maine, and is also open to remote candidates based in Texas.POSITION SUMMARYSummit Utilities Legal Department is seeking a dynamic and experiencedlegal executive to join our team as Vice President & Deputy GeneralCounsel. This is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing thecompanys litigation and corporate legal functions. Reporting to theChief Legal Officer (CLO), the Deputy General Counsel will be astrategic partner to the executive team and play a critical role inmentoring legal staff, leading legal initiatives, and supporting theorganizations continued growth. Ideal candidates will bring significantlaw firm and in-house corporate experience, exemplary legal andleadership skills, and the ability to continuously adapt in a fast-pacedenvironment.PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESProvide day-to-day legal counsel on general corporate, litigation,regulatory, and compliance mattersLead and mentor legal team membersacross functional areas, including transactions, financing, disputes andclaims, employment, insurance, and records managementPartner with theCLO and executive leadership to manage legal aspects of mergers andacquisitions, including due diligence and integrationServe as a keymember of the Senior Leadership Team, helping to execute companystrategy through cross-functional collaborationSelect, engage, andoversee outside counsel, ensuring effective, high-quality, andcost-efficient legal representationIdentify and implement processimprovements in partnership with internal legal and businessstakeholdersBuild and maintain productive, cross-functionalrelationships across the enterpriseDevelop and maintain a deepunderstanding of Summits business operations, including the regulatoryrequirements of each jurisdiction servedPerform other duties as assignedEDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCEJuris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law schoolLicensed and in goodstanding to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdictionMinimum of 10years of legal experience, including law firm experienceDemonstratedexperience in litigation, corporate governance, transactions, and legalteam leadershipPrior experience in the energy sector is preferredKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIESStrong business acumen with a pragmatic, solutions-oriented approach tolegal problem-solvingProven ability to provide concise, creative, andpractical legal counsel in a fast-paced, evolvingenvironmentDemonstrated leadership and mentoring skills, with experiencemanaging a geogra[](employment opportunity, including veterans and individuals withdisabilities.PI 81520293
