May beexposed to loud noises, fumes, confined spaces, and/or temperature extremeswhile on job sites.Shift7:30 am - 4:15 pm; (Monday - Friday).Hours of work may vary dependent upon situational factors and may includesome nights(s), weekend(s), and holiday(s) response.Job SummaryUnder the direction of the Supervisor and Department Management, the Painterreceives and completes work orders while maintaining accurate records onmaterial and labor used; Detects needed repairs on buildings, grounds, andequipment by following established inspection procedures; Smoothes andprepares surfaces for painting, including sanding and removing old paint; Fillsnail holes, cracks, and joints with putty, plaster, or other fillers; Tapes, floats,finishes, and textures walls and ceilings; Removes graffiti from the interior andexterior of buildings; Repairs glass of building windows; Prepares all paintedsigns required by the Campus; Erects scaffolding or sets up ladder to performtasks above ground level; and Utilizes a computerized maintenancemanagement system (SAP) for work order processing. In addition, this positionpaints surfaces, using brushes, spray gun, or paint rollers, and applies paintwith cloth, brush, sponge, or fingers to create special effects; Stains, seals, andvarnishes wood surfaces; Performs maintenance roof coatings and repairs;Performs mold and paint removal; Operates tools and equipment according toestablished safety procedures; Performs preventive maintenance on tools andequipment and ensures that equipment is in safe operating condition; Followsestablished safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties, includinglifting, climbing, etc.; Stores, handles and disposes of paint, stain, varnish, andother chemicals according to established procedures; Corrects unsafeconditions in work areas and reports any conditions that are not correctable tosupervisor immediately; and Ensures proper use of Personal ProtectiveEquipment (PPE).Skills / Knowledge / AbilitiesMS Windows/Office; KRONOS; and SAP.Does this position have supervisory responsibilities?
