Veterinary Technician

We are looking for an E xperienced RVT or Veterinary Assistant for our hospital. Join our exceptional team at VCA Irvine University Park Animal Hospital We are an AAHA accredited hospital that provides the highest quality client and patient care, utilizing fear free techniques to create a low-stress atmosphere. We are a full service hospital, providing boarding, bathing and grooming. Location: 5301 University Drive, Irvine, CA 92612 We have been providing high quality patient care in Irvine for over 40 years , enriching and protecting the special relationship between pets and their people. Our energetic and passionate team includes 2 veterinarians and a fantastic support team. We will be adding another veterinarian at the end of April and plan to add another at the end of summer. We are well equipped with ultrasound, laser therapy, digital radiography, including digital dental radiography, and the most advanced patient monitoring tools; and we offer a positive, team-oriented work environment. We are searching for experienced RVTs or Veterinary Assistants with outstanding skills with pets and people - knowledgeable about veterinary medicine, and a comfort for developing relationships with all team members and clients. Skills you will be utilizing include, but are not limited to: + Patient Assessment u2013 Differentiating routine cases from urgent & emergency cases + Anticipating the needs of the veterinarian + Completing patient treatments in a timely manner + Venipuncture & IV Catheter placement + Radiology + Pharmacy + Surgical Preparation + Anesthetic Monitoring + Dentistry including extractions (licensed technicians only) + Patient Recovery + Maintaining electronic medical records with accurate & detailed data + Client communication & education + Providing compassionate care and a home away from home for all pets in the hospital + Hospital maintenance (including removal of animal waste) and ensuring the hospital is neat and clean at all times u2013 both inside and outside We are open 7 days a week. This position does require the ability to work at least 1 weekend day each week. Schedule: 4 days, 10-hour shifts . Salary: $20-26 based on experience.
