Accounts Payable Specialist

Description We are looking for a skilled Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in the Roanoke, Virginia area. This role is ideal for an experienced individual with a strong background in managing vendor relationships and handling financial transactions efficiently. The successful candidate will contribute to the smooth operation of the accounts payable function, ensuring accuracy and compliance in all processes. Responsibilities: u2022 Process and manage all accounts payable tasks, including invoice handling and vendor payments. u2022 Reconcile vendor statements and maintain accurate vendor histories. u2022 Address and resolve discrepancies in invoices to ensure timely payments. u2022 Utilize Sage systems to manage accounts payable workflows. u2022 Collaborate with vendors to maintain strong relationships and resolve payment queries. u2022 Perform coding of invoices and check runs with precision and attention to detail. u2022 Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met and priorities are managed effectively. u2022 Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures in all financial transactions. u2022 Support the team with additional accounts payable-related tasks as needed Requirements u2022 Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounts payable or a related field. u2022 Proficiency in accounts payable processes, including invoice coding and check runs. u2022 Strong experience with Sage. u2022 Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively. u2022 Excellent problem-solving skills to resolve invoice discrepancies. u2022 Experience in the construction industry is highly preferred. u2022 Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities. u2022 Strong communication skills for vendor and team interactions.
