(GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems.We have an exciting career opportunity for a Staff Electrical Design Engineer with our Electrical Engineering team located in San Diego, CA (Poway, CA)., DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Under general supervision with limited review, this position supports the design and development of advanced electrical components, equipment and systems for unmanned air vehicles. Assignments are normally accompanied by general instructions and suggestions, outlining possible approaches, sources or information. Responsible for analog, digital and power conversion circuit design for military applications with appropriate analysis and/or CAD modeling. Responsible for control schemes, analog, digital, magnetic and electric machine design and/or specification, EMI design, thermal analysis and packaging. Documentation necessary to support production (i.e. test procedures, records, bill of materials, Interface Control Document, Source Control Documents, detailed design specifications and production support) and training. Required to provide field support as needed.
