Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to join our team in Baltimore, Maryland. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on diverse accounting tasks while growing your expertise and contributing to a variety of projects. As part of a dynamic environment, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial operations and reporting. Responsibilities: u2022 Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. u2022 Prepare and post journal entries for routine and complex transactions. u2022 Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including timely processing and recording of invoices. u2022 Conduct bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner. u2022 Assist in payroll processing and ensure adherence to relevant regulations and standards. u2022 Support corporate tax preparation and filing by gathering necessary documentation and ensuring accuracy. u2022 Collaborate with team members to analyze financial data and provide actionable insights. u2022 Participate in month-end and year-end closing activities to ensure timely completion. u2022 Utilize advanced Microsoft Excel tools to streamline reporting and data analysis. u2022 Adapt to changing priorities and contribute to special projects as needed. Requirements u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. u2022 Minimum of 2 years of general accounting experience in a detail-oriented setting. u2022 Proficiency in advanced Microsoft Excel functions, including pivot tables and complex formulas. u2022 Strong knowledge of corporate tax processes and compliance. u2022 Familiarity with general ledger systems and financial reporting tools. u2022 Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently. u2022 Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment. u2022 Preferred but not required: certifications in accounting or finance.
