POSITION: Peer Support Specialist - MATSCHEDULE:Full-time - hours will be discussed with the applicantLOCATION:Las Vegas, NVSALARY:Will be discussed with the applicantSUMMARY: The Las Vegas Rescue Mission is looking for a Peer Support Specialist to join our team. We are a private, faith-based organization that serves our community by offering a safe place for adult men and women to break the cycle of homelessness and/or addiction.The Peer Support Specialist will be responsible for advocating, supporting, and linking residents to all appropriate communities recovery and healthy living. The PSS will be working within theLas Vegas Rescue Missions Recovery Program, Lighthouse Recovery. Lighthouse Recovery is a Low-Level Residential Adult Treatment program with Medication Assisted Treatment component. This position directly reports to the Recovery Program Supervisor.MINIMUM/PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:Certified or Intern Status, or can qualify for internship through the state boardHighschool Diploma or GEDPrevious experience working with vulnerable populations preferredUnderstanding of opioid addiction treatment servicesUnderstanding of Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) servicesHMIS Data Entry/ EHR experienceStrong organizational and time management skills.Understands person centered practices.Working knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook, MS Publisher, and Adobe Acrobat.Crisis Intervention/ de-escalationExcellent verbal, written interpersonal and organizational skills.Respectful of cultural diversityNetworking skillsJOB RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:Assist with the coordination of clients intake, assessment, and engagement into the program.Assisting patients through medically assisting treatments (MAT) and offering techniques for handling opioid useIdentify, coordinate and implement recreational activities and sports to complete with clientsAssist residents with the move to transitions, work verification, financial responsibility, etc.[]{style=
