Job Description Who will you be working with? You will join Wabtecu2019s Digital Technology team in one of our hub locations, reporting to Vice President of DI, Database & Enterprise Tools. This team is responsible for delivering mission-critical database and Oracle EBS solutions. How will you make a difference? Wabtec is seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Oracle DBA to join our dynamic team. In this role, youu2019ll help power the global delivery of manufacturing solutions by ensuring our database environments are secure, high-performing, and highly available. Youu2019ll be a key contributor to technical and business teams to drive innovation and operational excellence. You must have: + Bacheloru2019s degree or equivalent work experience + 10+ years of hands-on experience supporting enterprise Oracle environments (12c or higher) + Expertise in Oracle 19c administration and related tools + Proven experience implementing Oracle 19c GRID/RAC architecture on RedHat Enterprise Linux + Proficiency in SSH/KSH/BASH scripting + Advanced Data Guard expertise (switchover and debugging) + Experience with cloud environment technologies, preferably AWS, OCI + Knowledge of Oracle security best practices and patching methodologies + Strong understanding of Oracle tuning and operational support best practices + Operations mindset - understanding, implementation, and operation of ITSM at scale What will your typical day look like? u2022 Install, upgrade, configure, tune, debug, and patch all components of the Oracle 19c technology stack, including Oracle GRID, ASM, Clusterware, and database instances u2022 Install, upgrade, configure, tune, and debug all aspects of Oracle DataGuard u2022 Monitor and tune Cloud databases and components u2022 Monitor, patch, tune and debug Oracle EBS u2022 Monitor database performance, space utilization, identify potential problems and ensure database availability u2022 Install, upgrade, configure, and patch Oracle Enterprise Manager 13c u2022 Install, upgrade, configure, and patch Oracle pluggable database configurations using 19c u2022 Designs, implements, and maintains database and database infrastructure security u2022 Provide evaluation, architecture, and integration skills to support COTS and/or developed products within the Oracle database framework u2022 Implement architected HA/DR solutions to ensure application availability u2022 Identify and develop automation of repetitive processes to minimize errors and maximize service delivery using Linux scripting, SQL, PL/SQL and cron jobs u2022 Interface and communicate effectively across various support teams and with senior management u2022 Support 24/7/365 applications based in local data centers, the cloud (AWS & OCI) u2022 Research technology, support business requirements, propose changes, and develop migration and implementation u2022 Manage the general contractor DBA team to ensure they follow standards and meet SLAs u2022 Manage ticketing and incidents in ServiceNow to ensure SLAs are met or exceeded u2022 Other duties as assigned What about the physical demands of the job? u2022 Frequently communicating with others to exchange information u2022 Frequently remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods u2022 Frequently repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers u2022 Frequently assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned Work Environment: u2022 The employee will normally work in a temperature-controlled office environment u2022 Minimal travel requirements: most work can be accomplished via conference and video calls, team chats, etc. Not eligible for relocation assistance. The salary rate for this role is currently $102500-146000 The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location.
