Title: Industrial Engineer I Category: Operations & Distribution EmploymentType: Full-Time Location: NV-Reno LocationType: dist_center JobLocation: Reno, Nevada 89521 JobSummary: This position is part of the B&N Engineering department and focuses on supporting warehouse improvement initiatives. In this role, you will be responsible for collecting and analyzing data, documenting procedures, assisting with SOP training, and tracking key operational metrics. You will also evaluate current processes and recommend enhancements to improve efficiency and expand the capacity of the distribution center network. Success in this role relies on strong collaboration with teams across the organization. An employee in this position can expect an annual starting rate between $85,000-95,000, depending on experience, seniority, geographic location, and other factors permitted by law. WhatYouDo: u2022 Review current distribution center processes and identify opportunities for improvement: reduce cycle time, increase throughput, improve quality, safety, and cost savings. u2022 u2022 Observe and evaluate employees' tasks and responsibilities to identify bottlenecks and issues related to systems, procedures, or pace. u2022 u2022 Make recommendations to modify processes to maximize efficiency and reduce waste. u2022 u2022 Document and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), process flow diagrams, and work instructions. u2022 u2022 Assist with SOP training across warehouse functions. u2022 u2022 Collaborate on work standardization and time studies. u2022 u2022 Gather data needed to maintain labor performance metrics and labor models. u2022 u2022 Use analytical methods and tools to understand and forecast order cadence, evaluate process changes, and identify slotting needs. u2022 u2022 Work with large datasets in Excel and/or MS Access (300K+ items), analyze the data, identify trends, run regressions, and conduct forecasting. u2022 u2022 Present and summarize data analysis through graphs and diagrams. u2022 u2022 Demonstrate knowledge of warehouse and distribution center operations. u2022 u2022 Perform other related duties as assigned. Knowledge&Experience: u2022 BS Degree in Supply Chain Management or Industrial Engineering, and/or equivalent work experience. u2022 1-3+ years of experience in Distribution centers. u2022 Familiar with lean manufacturing principles and practices. u2022 5+ Yearsu2019 Experience in Microsoft Excel, preferred MS Access, and knowledge of SQL, Power Bi, and Python (would be a plus) u2022 Time Studies software. u2022 Understanding of computer databases, statistic applications, and logistics programs. u2022 Proven knowledge of Automation and Material handling solutions: picking and packing technology. u2022 Strong organization, time-management, prioritization, multi-tasking, independent-decision making, problem-solving, interpersonal, analytical, etc. skills. u2022 Works well under deadlines, self-starter, innovative, team-oriented, customer-focused, etc. u2022 Intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
