Description We are looking for a skilled Desktop Support Technician II to join our team in Irving, Texas. In this long-term contract position, you will play a key role in providing technical support to end-users, ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of hardware, software, and devices. Title: IT Support Specialist Location: Irving, Tx Pay: $25-30 per hour Duration: 6 Month Contract to Hire Responsibilities: u2022 Evaluate hardware and software requests, offering solutions that align with business needs and corporate standards while maintaining proper documentation. u2022 Configure and maintain end-user environments, including setting up new hardware, addressing virus alerts, installing software updates, and conducting tests. u2022 Deliver direct technical support to users by restoring services, conducting training sessions, and coordinating warranty repairs with third-party vendors. u2022 Install, support, and retire hardware such as desktops, laptops, monitors, printers, and mobile devices, ensuring proper software installation and secure data wiping before reissue. u2022 Develop and update documentation for troubleshooting processes and incident resolution, while identifying opportunities for process improvements. u2022 Assist with facility moves and ensure all equipment is set up correctly under supervision. u2022 Ensure compliance with company policies and regulations, escalating concerns when necessary. u2022 Troubleshoot user issues by analyzing the end-user environment and related technologies, resolving most common problems efficiently. u2022 Maintain professionalism and composure in high-pressure situations, providing courteous and tactful assistance to clients and colleagues. u2022 Investigate client issues to identify root causes, ensuring a client-focused approach in all interactions. Requirements u2022 Demonstrated knowledge of standard end-user hardware and software, with the ability to address and resolve common issues. u2022 Proficiency in supporting A/V equipment, conference room technology, and MacBooks within enterprise environments. u2022 Basic understanding of network connectivity and infrastructure. u2022 Ability to learn and utilize company-specific applications and technologies effectively. u2022 General knowledge of business processes, allowing prioritization of critical user areas or applications. u2022 Strong communication skills to manage client interactions, especially during stressful or unclear situations. u2022 Familiarity with PC desktops, workstations, Active Directory, and Windows 10. u2022 Experience with desktop imaging and hardware troubleshooting.
