Description We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Sr. Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Austin, Texas. This role requires an individual with a strong foundation in accounting principles and technical expertise to oversee critical financial processes, including month-end close and reporting for a publicly traded company. The ideal candidate will bring exceptional analytical skills, effective communication abilities, and proficiency in advanced accounting systems and tools. Responsibilities: u2022 Oversee and manage the month-end close process to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. u2022 Review and monitor daily accounting operations to maintain compliance with established standards and procedures. u2022 Handle ad hoc projects and tasks assigned by management, delivering results efficiently and effectively. u2022 Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring alignment with regulatory and organizational requirements. u2022 Utilize advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and handling large data sets, to support financial analyses. u2022 Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of accounting processes within proprietary or enterprise systems. u2022 Maintain and apply knowledge of US GAAP to ensure accurate and compliant accounting practices. u2022 Provide insights and recommendations for process improvements within the accounting function. u2022 Support reporting requirements for a publicly traded company, ensuring data accuracy and integrity. u2022 Communicate effectively with stakeholders, presenting financial information clearly and concisely. Requirements u2022 Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field. u2022 Proven experience in public accounting and technical accounting principles. u2022 Proficiency in managing month-end close processes and producing accurate financial reports. u2022 Familiarity with proprietary accounting systems or enterprise-level software. u2022 Strong knowledge of US GAAP and its application in financial reporting. u2022 Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including experience with pivot tables and large data analysis. u2022 Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with stakeholders at all levels. u2022 Previous experience working with publicly traded companies is highly desirable.
