Criminal Defense Paralegal

Description Robert Half is partnering with a firm, seeking a Criminal Defense Paralegal for their Encino location. The ideal Paralegal will have at least a year of criminal defense experience, specifically with DUIs, and know how to draft subpoenas. This is a contract position with the potential to transition to a direct hire employee. Responsibilities: u2022 Open new cases and manage the initial documentation process. u2022 Draft and send introductory letters to clients. u2022 Coordinate and request hearings, ensuring accurate scheduling and rescheduling. u2022 Provide court updates to clients who have attended hearings. u2022 Facilitate communication with prospective clients and forward relevant information to attorneys. u2022 Issue subpoenas to law enforcement agencies to obtain supplemental discovery. u2022 Conduct searches across court websites and district attorney offices to identify newly filed cases.
