No County Albany Street Address 515 Broadway City Albany State NY Zip Code 12207 Duties Description Nature and ScopeDASNY provides financing and construction services to public and private universities, not-for-profit healthcare facilities and other institutions that serve the public good. DASNY is divided into five major divisions: Executive Direction, Public Finance and Portfolio Monitoring, Construction Services, Counsel, and Finance. The Construction division provides design, engineering, procurement, and project management services to DASNY clients. Under the Project Support Services u2013 Technical Unit, the Sustainability Programs staff are involved in establishing a comprehensive sustainability strategy for all DASNY projects and guiding resources in the execution of LEED standards and other environmentally sound practices.Primary PurposeUnder the direction of the Director of Sustainability, Energy, and Environmental Programs, serves in a temporary capacity as a DASNY student intern who participates in educational opportunities on DASNYu2019s business operations, construction projects, and sustainability, Energy, and Environmental ProgramsEssential Functionsu2022 Perform research on selected projects.u2022 Assist in the promotion of a sustainability plan for DASNY.u2022 Data stewardship, analysis, and reporting development related to Environmental u2022 Product Declaration and Construction Debris data, including development of a data stewardship SOP and identification of weaknesses broken out by various categories.u2022 Development of a thermal energy network technical scoring tool to help determine if further investigation (e.g. a study) would be of value.u2022 Assistance in developing version 1.3 updates to the Owneru2019s Project u2022Requirements, including leading outreach to specific SMEs and DPMs, as well as development of a DPM survey and analysis of the associated data.u2022Lead internal communications surrounding GreenNY specification changes and additions.u2022Develop and present short, asynchronous trainings related to best practices for deconstruction, phase change materials, and/or beneficial electrification beyond space heating.u2022Production and presentation of sustainability moments relevant to DASNYu2019s work for our customer agencies.u2022Work on greening of DASNY including involvement in the sustainability committee and production of statistically significant data related to DASNYu2019s waste and recycling using approved methods.u2022Undertake special assignments as directedu2022Must adhere to the NYS Information Security Policy Standards established and issued by the Office of Cyber Security and Critical Infrastructure Coordination. Minimum Qualifications Minimum QualificationsMust be a matriculated undergraduate (freshman level or above), or first year graduate student pursuing a degree in Construction, Environmental Studies, Building Science, Architecture, Engineering, or a related discipline and with an interest in green construction and sustainability initiatives.Essential SkillsExcellent oral and written communications skills.Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to prioritize.Demonstrated ability to work on a project from inception through completion.Proficiency in PC applications such as Outlook, Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint Additional Comments DASNY provides financing and construction services to public and private universities, not-for-profit healthcare facilities, and other institutions which serve the public good.
