Validation Engineer

Duration: 12+ Months The Role: Technical, hands-on engineer responsible for Datacenter Server product power management feature validation, feature enablement at the silicon SoC level up through BIOS/system firmware/OS levels, and feature optimization towards performance. The Person: In this position, you will be working with a small but highly experienced team that led the power management verification and optimization of client's multi-generation server product. If you thrive in a technically challenging environment while working on a variety of different engineering problems using cutting-edge technology, this could be the perfect opportunity for you Responsibilities: u2022 Manage and maintain testing systems, which includes setting up new systems, diagnosing hardware issues, load operating system, flash FW, and BIOS images both in circuit and throughout of band fixtures. u2022 Execute feature enablement and validation test plans for power management features post silicon phase across all client Server products and debug HW/FW bugs u2022 Execute power management feature optimization plans. u2022 Execute benchmark workloads to confirm product performance u2022 Prioritize and efficiently manage several concurrent projects and testing tasks Preferred Skills and Attributes : u2022 Knowledge of computer hardware architecture (CPU/APU, x86, pcie, memory, bus logic) and software architecture (driver, bios, firmware usage) u2022 Knowledge of power management features u2022 Understanding of modern x86 microprocessor architecture and Server platform architecture is highly desired u2022 Test plan and test development experience u2022 Participated in silicon bring up and debug, support to internal engineering teams u2022 Familiarity with programming / scripting language (C/C++, Python, Perl, ...) u2022 Working knowledge of Server OSes (Linux, Windows Server) u2022 Experienced use of tools such as Jtag debuggers, logic analyzers, SATA, USB, and PCIe bus analyzers u2022 Good troubleshooting skills to isolate component issues from software issues and use errors Academic Credentials: College degree About US Tech Solutions: US Tech Solutions is a global staff augmentation firm providing a wide range of talent on-demand and total workforce solutions.
