Description We are looking for a skilled Help Desk/Desktop Support Analyst to join our team in Chicago, Illinois. In this long-term contract position, you will provide essential technical support to end users, ensuring smooth operation of computer systems, hardware, and software. This role offers the opportunity to troubleshoot issues, maintain IT equipment, and deliver outstanding customer service while contributing to the organization's technology infrastructure. Responsibilities: u2022 Offer direct technical assistance to users, resolving hardware, software, and peripheral issues efficiently. u2022 Perform password resets, address account lockouts, and resolve application errors while ensuring user satisfaction. u2022 Install, configure, and update operating systems and software applications to maintain optimal system performance. u2022 Conduct routine inspections of desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals, addressing any maintenance needs promptly. u2022 Diagnose and repair faulty hardware components to ensure minimal downtime. u2022 Investigate and resolve basic network connectivity problems, including Wi-Fi and shared drive access. u2022 Ensure all devices are securely connected to the organization's network and domain. u2022 Maintain accurate documentation of IT assets, support requests, and resolutions for reporting and analysis purposes. u2022 Monitor recurring technical issues and escalate them to senior IT staff for long-term solutions. u2022 Uphold security protocols by ensuring antivirus and endpoint protection tools are active and updated. Requirements u2022 Proficiency in Windows operating systems, including troubleshooting and maintenance. u2022 Basic knowledge of Linux/Unix patching processes and familiarity with Active Directory. u2022 Understanding of networking concepts, including IP configurations and domain setups. u2022 Ability to diagnose and resolve issues with desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals. u2022 Experience using Microsoft 365 applications, such as Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel. u2022 Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach to IT support. u2022 Exceptional problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. u2022 Familiarity with ticketing systems like ServiceNow and prior experience in IT help desk support is preferred.
