Geographic Information Science (GIS) Intern

Lawhon and Associates, Inc., based in Columbus, Ohio, is seeking an energetic and self-motivated individual for an internship within our GIS and CADD department. This position will support a variety of internal teams, including Ecology, Archaeology, Site Assessment, and Mussel Services. The role is based in our Columbus office and will be in-person.QualificationsQualified candidates will be pursuing or possess a degree in GIS, Geography, Environmental Science, Urban Planning, or a related field. Candidates should have basic proficiency with ArcGIS Pro and an understanding of spatial data concepts such as projections, coordinate systems, geodatabases, and common geoprocessing tools and workflows. Interns will be expected to visualize spatial data for maps and other deliverables using templates, geoprocessing tools, scripts, and spatial analyses.We anticipate approximately 8 to 12 hours per week, with a start date in late February/early March with additional hours, up to 40 available during the summer break (May-Aug).u00a0 Workdays will be flexible, with office hours between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm.RequirementsCandidates must also demonstrate:- Excellent oral, written, and analytical skills- Proficiency with ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and Microsoft Office- Preferred (Not Required): Experience with field data collection tools (Collector, GPS units)- Preferred (Not Required): Exposure to AutoCAD or other drafting softwareLawhon & Associates, Inc. provides full-service environmental engineering and consulting services to solve environmental issues for the public and private sector.
