In this highly collaborative job, you will work closelyu00a0with the news desk, beat correspondents, and other producers on key shift. The Researcheru00a0will spend their time focused on the White House beat. You should be willing to work flexible hours, days, and holidays, with a willingness to travel. Job Duties:u00a0u00a0 + Log beat-related events and background calls during their shiftsu00a0 + Assist in breaking news & on-going story coverage,u00a0including through reporting and researchu00a0 + Work with correspondents to prepare for live,u00a0taped and written reports for all NBC News Group platformsu00a0 + Utilize a variety of logging platforms, such as Otter and Media Central + Pitch original story ideasu00a0for all platforms + Help maintain spreadsheets and research documents related to White Houseu00a0 Basic Requirements: + Must have a minimum of 1 years editorial experience working in production at a network/cable news operation + Mustu00a0have a Bacheloru2019s degree in journalism, political science, another related field, or equivalent work experience + Must be willing to live and work in Washington, D.C. + Must be willing and able to work flexible hours and travelu00a0 + Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.u00a0 Desired Characteristics: + Excellent news judgmentu00a0 + Exceptional interpersonal and communication skillsu00a0 + Strong digital journalism skills + Proven ability to prioritize and make critical decisions under tight deadlines + Team player who can also work independently and is a self-starter + Demonstrated field producing experience + Strong reporting,u00a0writing, and research skills + Knowledge of the daily production needs of news programsu00a0and special reports Additional Requirements: Hybrid: This position currently has a hybrid schedule, which requires contributing from the office a minimum of four days per week.
