Maintenance Mechanic

Job Description Position Title: Maintenance Mechanic Pay Rate: $28.61-$33.52 Category/Shift: Hourly Full-Time (7p-7a - 2-2-3 schedule) Physical Location: Charlotte Box 5419 Hovis Road Charlotte, NC 28208 The Job You Will Perform: + Installation, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, cleaning, and repair of containerboard plant machinery and equipment + Observe mechanical devices in operation and listen to their sounds to locate causes of trouble + Dismantle devices to gain access to and remove defective parts. + Examine form and texture of parts to detect imperfections. + Repair or replace defective parts. + Install special functional and structural parts in devices. + Set up and operate lathe, drill press, grinder, band saw, milling machine, welder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts. + Movement/positioning/replacement of heavy weight equipment with the aid of mechanical means such as forklifts, pry bars, and chain falls. + Install power supply, wiring, and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment such as conveyors and programmable controllers. + Diagnose and repair or replace faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards. + Diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
