Production Engineer

Job SummaryThe Production Engineer is a hands-on role responsible for supporting daily manufacturing operations, leading process and equipment improvement initiatives, and ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient plant performance. This position works closely with operations, maintenance, and management to provide technical expertise in equipment design, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement within an industrial manufacturing environment.Key Responsibilitiesu2022 Lead or assist in the design, installation, commissioning, and startup of new process equipment and system upgrades.u2022 Evaluate and troubleshoot process, mechanical, or equipment performance issues.u2022 Develop and implement process improvements to enhance safety, reliability, and production efficiency.u2022 Prepare and maintain process documentation including P&IDs, process flow diagrams, and equipment specifications.u2022 Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and internal teams during construction and installation projects.u2022 Support preventive maintenance and mechanical integrity programs.u2022 Ensure compliance with applicable safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.u2022 Provide technical support to production and maintenance staff.u2022 Participate in root cause analyses and continuous improvement initiatives.Minimum Education & Experience Requirementsu2022 Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.u2022 Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a chemical, industrial, or manufacturing environment.u2022 Hands-on experience with process equipment such as pumps, heat exchangers, pressure vessels, reactor systems, and piping preferred.Special Requirementsu2022 Ability to work safely in an industrial manufacturing environment.u2022 Willingness to support occasional overtime or weekend work during installations or plant outages.u2022 Ability to perform field-based work, including climbing and lifting as required.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilitiesu2022 Practical knowledge of pump sizing, installation, and troubleshooting.u2022 Understanding of heat transfer equipment, pressure vessels, and reactor systems.u2022 Familiarity with piping design, instrumentation, and basic process controls.u2022 Knowledge of process safety and mechanical integrity practices.u2022 Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.u2022 Effective written and verbal communication skills.u2022 Ability to work collaboratively across departments.Additional Desired Characteristicsu2022 Experience supporting continuous improvement or reliability initiatives.u2022 Exposure to capital projects or equipment upgrades in an industrial setting.u2022 Familiarity with management of change (MOC) or safety review processes.Work Environmentu2022 On-site role at an industrial manufacturing facility within a regional location.u2022 Regular field work around operating process units.u2022 Standard business hours with flexibility to meet operational needs.Other DutiesThis job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
