Engineer I - Roadway

Reference #: 4938RK&K is currently hiring Transportation Engineers for our team in Pennsylvania. As a Highway/Roadway Engineer with RK&K, your responsibilities will include design, coordination and analysis of transportation facilities. Projects will include, but not be limited to new roadways, widenings, resurfacings, and multimodal improvements.Essential FunctionsDesign and analysis of horizontal and vertical alignmentsPrepare plan, profile, cross section, and detail sheetsDesign temporary traffic control plansCalculate quantities and prepare construction cost estimatesSupport preparation and documentation of design deliverablesSupport preparation of specifications packagesCollaborate with other disciplines on creative solutions to design challengesRequired Skills and ExperienceZero (0) to Two (2) years of experience in transportation designWorking knowledge of basic roadway design principalsBachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related fieldEngineering Intern (E.I.) license or ability to obtain within six (6) monthsStrong communication skills and ability to work in teamsPreferred Skills and ExperienceRoadway widening or new alignment designInnovative intersection designSidewalk or shared use path designFamiliarity with CADD platforms, design software and Microsoft productsOther DutiesThis job description indicates the general nature and levels of work, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other essential functions (as covered under ADA).
