Amentum is actively seeking a Supervising Discipline Engineer (SDE). This role will be responsible for a variety of engineering tasks in the initial planning through final design phase for Industrial projects of advanced complexity. The SDE is responsible for technical electrical project knowledge and managing the electrical engineering team to meet customer and project requirements regarding scope, scheduling and budgets. Provides a liaison between discipline engineers and Project Managers with respect to project scope, budget, scheduling and overall engineering and design requirements and employee administration. The SDE shall report to the Chief Discipline Engineer. Key Responsibilities u2022 Assume responsibility for ensuring that engineering documents comply with applicable state laws/regulations, including affixing registered engineer seal when required. u2022 Coordinate the electrical discipline's engineering with that of other disciplines. u2022 Maintain records, files and other documents pertaining to the electrical discipline. u2022 Assign preparers and checkers for electrical discipline specifications and coordinates review of external specifications. u2022 Establish schedules and budgets to meet project requirements and obtains approval. u2022 Maintain technical coordination with the Principal Engineer to ensure adherence to industry codes, regulatory requirements and sound engineering practices. u2022 Direct the preparation and submits periodic reports and forecasts on the status of the electrical discipline. u2022 Comply with state requirements for continuing education, maintains and obtains licenses as requested. u2022 Continually upgrade technical knowledge and capabilities and pursues additional coursework and training. u2022 Advises the Project Engineering Manager regarding status of assignment(s) with respect to schedule, budgets, delays and adverse problems. u2022 Work closely with Chief Electrical Engineer and Project Engineering Managers on employee evaluations and promotions and the overall technical improvement of the group. u2022 Lead the development of manpower, man-hour, and labor cost requirements for a project and can monitor the effect of these on the budget. u2022 Able to lead all aspects of electrical estimating. u2022 Responsible for performance management and mentoring. u2022 Provide assistance to projects to address technical issues related to process improvement. u2022 Assist in training and mentoring/coaching other team members. u2022 Assist in the development of training programs within area of technical expertise and conducts training sessions as appropriate. u2022 Create positive working relationships with peer leaders. u2022 Create productive relationships with organizations both within and external to Engineering. Minimum Requirements: u2022Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from a 4-year accredited college or university. u2022Must have minimum of 12+ years of experience in electrical engineering/design of Industrial projects. u2022This must include 5+ years of experience in managing/supervising medium to large electrical design team. u2022Advanced experience must include physical design, control, protection, metering and communication requirements for facilities, including specifying and sizing electrical equipment, power system analysis, and utility interfaces. u2022Has strong understanding of Process, Mechanical, Civil, Structural, Architectural and Instrumentation disciplines. u2022Good oral and written communication skills; working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications; organizational skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work are required. u2022Must have advanced knowledge with the National Electrical Code (NEC). u20222D AutoCAD/Revit and or MicroStation Experience. u2022 Must have a Professional Engineer License (PE) AND the ability to obtain a license in an assigned state. u2022Position may require travel. u2022Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance. US Citizenship is required. US Dual citizenship may be considered. Preferred Qualifications: 3D AutoCAD MEP, MicroStation, and/or Revit design experience. Government facility (DOE, DOD, Army Corps of Engineers) project experience Compensation & Benefits HIRING SALARY RANGE: $135k - 175k Annually (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
