DescriptionJoin our Amazon Security Experience (ASE) Team as a Manager of Software Development, where you'll spearhead a new initiative applying behavioral science principles to security, pioneering innovative approaches to how builders interact with security tools and processes. You will lead efforts to deliver Security metrics and Insights for all Amazonians. This critical role requires a strategic leader who can work across Amazon's diverse businesses, understanding their unique needs and building tools that optimize their ability to develop secure software and hardware services. Your expertise in communication, security knowledge, and proven experience delivering technical solutions at cloud scale will be instrumental in ensuring that all builders across Amazon meet the Amazon Security Bar. You'll collaborate with teams throughout the company, gaining exposure to diverse technologies while making a significant impact on Amazon's security posture. Key job responsibilities Lead and mentor a team of software development engineers building security metrics and insights platforms Drive a new initiative leveraging applied science to improve security outcomes and builder engagement Partner with security teams, product managers, behavioral scientists, and stakeholders across Amazon to understand requirements and deliver solutions Drive technical strategy and architecture decisions for security tooling at scale Build and maintain relationships with diverse business units to ensure security tools meet their unique needs Champion best practices in secure software development and operational excellence Deliver measurable improvements in security visibility and builder experience through data-driven, science-backed approaches A day in the life The Amazon Security Experience (ASE) Team is dedicated to building tools that ensure builders across Amazon create software and hardware services that meet the Amazon Security Bar. Your day begins with a stand-up meeting where your team provides updates on current security tool development projects. You'll spend time reviewing architecture proposals for new security features, then meet with business teams to understand their specific workflows and security needs. In the afternoon, you might analyze usage metrics of existing security tools to identify improvement opportunities, collaborate with partner teams on integration points, and provide coaching to team members on complex security challenges. When we feel supported in the workplace and at home, thereu2019s nothing we canu2019t achieve.Basic Qualifications- 5+ years of engineering team management experience - 7+ years of Software Engineer, Software Developer, or related occupational experience - Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field - Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations - Experience partnering with product or program management teamsPreferred Qualifications- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy - Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
