Job Description

The role of the Staff Accountant is to manage the accounting and financial reporting process for their assigned territory. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for month-end closings, financial reporting, preparation of journal entries, accruals, reconciliations and analysis. This is an ON-SITE position in Allendale New Jersey. Analyzes variances in the Income Statement and Balance Sheet accounts.Prepares special reports for Director of Accounting Assists with assessment and implementation of internal controls, including risk identification and prevention. Prepares and submits sales tax returns for assigned brand/territory. Maintains and reconciles fixed asset schedules. Provides assistance during year-end bank auditMaintains and reconciles monthly balance sheet accounts as assignedPrepares and analyzes monthly prepaid amortization scheduleAbility to work outside normal business hours during month-end and year-end audits based on business needs.Must have Bachelor’s degree in Accounting 1+ years hands on accounting experience preferredPublic Accounting experience or CPA preferredNetSuite experience preferred Strong Microsoft Excel skillsAdvanced math skills: ability to calculate figures, amounts, and percentages, and apply concepts of mathematics relating to financial calculationsMust have initiative and ability to work independently and collaboratively Ability to maintain highly confidential informationStrong interpersonal skills to interface with all disciplines and levelsResourceful with exceptional problem solving and decision-making skills, ability to troubleshoot with keen attention to detailAble to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficientlyAbility to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing demands with a strong sense of urgency
