Discover all the possibilities of a career at Northside today.Operates ultrasound scanning equipment to produce records of designated portions of the human anatomy of infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. Has the ability to work in any of the outpatient facilities and able to perform and produce diagnostic imaging in at least three of the following Ultrasound imaging areas with two being General and Vascular and the third being either specialized Breast and/or Pediatric and/or MSK Ultrasound imaging. Has adequate breast Ultrasound experience to be a traveling breast imaging specialist that will work when needed at any of the breast care locations but will also precept, train, and orient all new staff in breast imaging at all of the breast care locations.Required QualificationsCertified in at least two of the following areas of Ultrasound depending on the Ultrasound services provided at the center. The areas include General, Vascular, Pediatric, Musculoskeletal, and/or Breast.Must be able to perform Ultrasound exams in at least three of the services provided at the center.All sonographers must obtain certification within one year of hire date or cross training.)Certified in Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or obtain within 90 days of employment Continuing Education Sonographers must be in compliance with the ARDMS, ARDMS, ARRT or CCI requirements for continuing education appropriate to their practicesRequirements for Ultrasound TechnologistsInitial QualificationsCertified or eligible for certification by: American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), ORAmerican Registry of Radiologic Technologists, Sonography (ARRT) (S).All sonographers must obtain certification within one year of hire date or cross training.)Certified in Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or obtain within 90 days of employmentContinuing EducationSonographers must be in compliance with the ARDMS, ARDMS, ARRT or CCI requirements for continuing education appropriate to their practicesRequirements for Vascular TechnologistsInitial QualificationsARDMS certification in vascular technology RVTARRT certification in vascular technology RT (VS)Continuing Education Sonographers must be in compliance with the ARDMS, ARRT or CCI requirements for continuing education appropriate to their practicesRequirements for Sonographer or Mammography Technologist - Breast UltrasoundInitial QualificationsARDMS certification and current registration, orARRT post-primary certification and current registration in breast sonography, orARRT certification and current registration and MQSA qualifiedAND5 CEUs specific to breast ultrasoundCertified in Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or obtain within 90 days of employmentContinuing Experience Regular performance of breast ultrasound examsContinuing Education Registered TechnologistsIn compliance with the CE requirements of their certifying organization for the imaging modality in which they perform servicesCE includes credits pertinent to the technologist’s ACR accredited clinical practicePreferred:Graduate from an accredited school of Ultrasound TechnologyRegistered Ultrasound Technologist (ARDMS or ARRT) with previous Ultrasound experienceRegistered Vascular Technologist with two (2) years vascular related experienceOne year experience in breast ultrasound One year experience in pediatric ultrasoundFive or more years of Ultrasound experience for precepting, orienting, or training others8:00-4:30pm
