MINIMUM/GENERAL EXPERIENCE:Eight (8) or more years of progressive experience in information technology or information systems, with a minimum of five (5)yearsperforming IT project management functions. Experience must include managing projects across the full system development life cycle (SDLC), from requirements definition through implementation and closeout. The individual mustdemonstrateexperience managing multiple, related projects simultaneously and applying industry-standard project management practices, including schedule, cost, and risk management, in support of complex IT initiatives.MINIMUM EDUCATION: A Bachelor s Degree in a discipline related to the contract work or in a business or technology related field. With a relevant Master s Degree ten (10) yearsgeneral experiencewith at least five (5) years of specialized experiencerequired. Fifteen (15) years of applicable experience may be substituted for degree requirements.ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE AREAS PREFERRED:Minimum five (5) years of experience performing IT project management functions.Minimum three (3) years of experience using Microsoft Project for schedule development and tracking.Minimum three (3) years of experience applying Earned Value Management (EVM) methodologies.Minimum three (3) years of experience performing formal risk management activities.Experience working in a software engineering environment following industry best practices such as CMMI, ITIL, or similar frameworks.Active or current Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.Prior experience supporting Federal Government IT projects or programs preferred.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly to diverse audiences.TheU.S. Census Bureau (USCB)is the nation’s leading source of high-quality data on the population and economy, supporting evidence-based decision-making across the Federal Government, industry, and the public.
