Job Description

Kimley-Horn's Nashville, Tennessee (TN) office is seeking an Experienced Electrical Engineer or Analyst with 2+ years of experience to join their Zero-Emission Vehicle (ZEV) team. This is an on-site position.Design of electrical systems including renewable generation, energy storage, electric vehicle charging infrastructure, transportation, aviation, and industrial projectsResponsible for the development of design documents and reports, including electrical layouts, equipment schematics and block diagrams, electrical system calculations, and one-line diagramsPerform work on a wide variety of projects, such as photometrics and lighting, power distribution, and moreParticipate on project teams in an active production roleParticipate in project meetings internally and externally with clientsPreparation of project specificationsPreparation of electrical construction cost estimatesDaily interaction and collaboration on cross-functional teams across multiple disciplinesCoordination and verification of as-built drawingsPerform quality work that promotes client retentionResponsible for the development of reports and design documents, including electrical design plans, equipment selection, solar system sizing, and power analyses.2+ years of design experience in electrical engineering specifically in any of the following: building electrical, Solar PV design, zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) and/or electric vehicle chargingBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (advanced degrees are a plus)EIT or ability to obtain within 6 months requiredFirm understanding of the National Electrical Code, other NFPA codes/standards, and energy codesUnderstanding of the National Electrical Code, other NFPA codes/standards, and energy codesProficiency using Computer-Aided Design and Drafting (AutoCAD)Building Information Modeling (BIM - Autodesk Revit) experience is a plusPower Analyses (load flow, short circuit, arc flash, device coordination) in SKM or ETAPElectrical power, lighting, and fire alarm design experienceSuperior verbal and written communication skillsThe ability to work independently or in a team environment effectively - The ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging environmentAt Kimley-Horn, we do things differently.
