The overall objective is to promote and maintain the health and safety of employees in an efficient and cost effective manner while maintaining confidentiality of services and records. The EH Wellness LVN acts as an advocate for the employee by ensuring access to employee health services and to other available programs that directly correlate to the wellbeing and safety of the employee while performing job duties at a CommonSpirt Health facility. Essential Key Job ResponsibilitiesUtilizes nursing skills to perform pre-placement health screens, recognize symptoms and refer as appropriate.Performs testing procedures, initiates appropriate interventions and referralsDocuments related to services provided. Maintains and ensures confidentiality with employee health recordsCollaborates with interdisciplinary departments including Infection Prevention, Human Resources, Occupational Health and Workers' Compensation to ensure regulatory, compliance and CommonSpirit Health policies are met.Monitors and ensures annual employee requirements are within compliance standardsProvides post-exposure management and follow up for staff exposed to communicable diseases and bloodborne pathogensUtilizes critical thinking nursing skills to ensure needs of clients are met appropriatelyLVNs must work under the supervision of an RN or another clinicianMay train other Employee Health staff as neededPerforms other duties as assignedEducation and ExperienceGraduate from an accredited school of nursing2 years clinical experienceEmployee or occupational health experience preferredRequired Licensure and CertificationsLicensed Practical Nurse (LPN) OR Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)Basic Life Support (BLS)Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and TrainingExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsInformation gathering and ability to follow a protocolAbility to work independently and as part of a teamAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationshipsKnowledge of medical terminology and governing agency requirements (i.e. OSHA, CDC) to perform the duties of the positionAbility to adapt and recognize when to refer situations to the RNAbility to set priorities, effectively coordinate multi-disciplinary care based on the needs of healthcare workersKnowledge of vaccines and immunization skillsGeneral office skills, computer experience including but not limited to Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, web-based applications, e-mail, Internet, fax machine, copy machine and various audio visual equipment
