Our practice is made up of 29 board-certified cardiologists and three cardiothoracic surgeons. We merged with CHI Memorial Health Care System in 2011 which is part of CommonSpirit Health. CommonSpirit has more than 700 care sites across the U.S. and is committed to building healthy communities.Summary:The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for utilizing training and skills to provide direct patient care under the supervision of a physician in a clinic setting.Essential Responsibilities:Manage patients in a collaboration with the cardiothoracic surgeons, providing specialty care to patients with acute and chronic problems in a clinic setting.Perform inpatient rounds on weekends on a rotational basis.Collect data pertinent to the patie4tns' status.Maintain a professional demeanor and promotes a positive work environment.Perform physical exams (within establishedprotocol.)Diagnose, treat and monitor chronic diseases (within protocol guidelines).Order diagnostic tests.prescribe or recommend medications for treatment(within protocol guidelines).Promote positive lifestyle habitsto all patients through education and counseling.Maintain patient's privacy and confidentiality.Education:Graduate from an accredited Advanced Practice Nursing program.License/Certification:Current/valid APN license from the state licensing board.BLS certificationACLS certificationExperience:1 year previous experience as an NP in an acute care setting or equivalent RN experience.
