Flux Core Welder Job Description Welders support custom metal fabrication projects involving carbon steel, stainless steel, and other industrial metals. Perform MIG and Flux-cored welding on various metal components, utilizing flux-core welding for strong and reliable heavy steel work without always needing shielding gas. Responsibilities + Read and interpret blueprints and welding drawings to complete jobs accurately. + Collaborate with production and engineering personnel as required. + Maintain consistency with project specifications, material requirements, and quality standards. + Operate within shop conditions involving common welding hazards such as fumes, burns, noise, and exposure to grinding and industrial machinery. + Work independently using effective time-management skills. + Uphold safety procedures and proper use of PPE at all times. Essential Skills + Experience with flux core and MIG welding. + Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding drawings. + Mechanically inclined with knowledge in welding, fitting, and fabrication. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and work in tight or elevated spaces. + Knowledge of welding shop hazards and safe operation of tools and equipment. + Experience in steel fabrication or machining environments preferred.
