Accounts Payable Specialist

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Southfield, Michigan. This long-term contract position requires an individual who excels in managing financial transactions and ensuring accuracy in payment processing. Responsibilities: u2022 Process invoices accurately and efficiently, ensuring proper coding and compliance with organizational standards. u2022 Manage Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions and oversee check runs to ensure timely payments. u2022 Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies promptly to maintain strong supplier relationships. u2022 Maintain accurate records of accounts payable transactions and support audits as needed. u2022 Collaborate with the finance team to streamline processes and improve efficiency. u2022 Verify account coding for invoices to ensure financial data is correctly categorized. u2022 Respond to inquiries regarding accounts payable and provide excellent customer service to internal and external parties. u2022 Prepare periodic reports related to accounts payable activities for management review. u2022 Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures in all payment processes. u2022 Assist with system upgrades or transitions related to accounts payable functions. Requirements u2022 Proven experience in accounts payable or a related financial role. u2022 Strong knowledge of account coding, invoice processing, and ACH transactions. u2022 Familiarity with check runs and payment processing systems. u2022 Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. u2022 Proficiency in relevant accounting software and tools. u2022 Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. u2022 Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve discrepancies effectively. u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred.
