Eatonu2019s IS VEH VGNA is currently seeking a Production Worker. This position is based at our South Bend, IN location. The hourly rate for this position is $21.56 per hour. The core hours are 10pm-6:20am. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. For this Position, we will be taking the first 50 candidates and then unposting the req to provide the best experience for each person. We will reopen as needed until the req is full. What youu2019ll do: The Production Worker will work in a self-directed, team oriented, advanced forging operation to produce quality product safely and efficiently. In this function you will: u2022 Perform equipment and tooling set-ups as specified by the Process Sheet Work Instructions. u2022 Perform quality inspection including gauge usage, SPC tracking and blueprint reading. u2022 Participate as a team member to continuously improve operations. u2022 Perform preventative maintenance and inspection checks on equipment and forklifts. u2022 Operate and make necessary adjustments to the forge press, trim press, automatic loader, automatic graphite spray system, heat induction system and all related controls. Operate spray lubricant as required. u2022 Communicate with all other team members to assure quality product production and customer satisfaction. u2022 Participate in teams and/or taskforces that are directly related to plant operations and continuous improvement. Qualifications: Required (Basic) Qualifications: u2022 High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution is required u2022 Previous manufacturing experience u2022 Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. u2022 1-2 years of continuous employment with a single company, demonstrating stability and reliability u2022 Previous experience reading and interpreting documents such as blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals required. u2022 Basic math experience (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division). u2022 Basic units of measure experience (micrometers and calipers). Preferred Qualifications: u2022 Machine Operator experience Position Criteria: u2022 Ability to frequently move and/or lift forgings and dies during the forging and trimming press operations weighing up to 30 lbs. u2022 Ability to stand or walk the entire shift. u2022 Ability to hear and talk to other teammates while working. u2022 Ability to visually detect quality defects during production. u2022 Ability to tolerate extreme temperature changes, wetness and/or humidity during production operations. u2022 Ability to tolerate noise at a time weighted average of 97 decibels and occasional vibration due to use of tools and equipment. u2022 Ability to tolerate fumes from forge press, forklifts, Tennant Sweeper, welding and cutting operations. Ability to tolerate occasional graphite/water mist from forging operations u2022 Available to work any shift, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required. u2022 Willing to adhere to all safety rules and regulations, including all PPE requirements.
