What youu2019ll do: PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY: Eatonu2019s Commercial Products and Assemblies division is currently seeking a Material Handler-Forklift Operator to join our team. This position is based out of our Sumter, SC facility. The primary function of this role is to be responsible for providing manufacturing expertise and support in the Shipping area including, but not limited to, allocation of materials, planning, scheduling, verifying, receiving, and shipping in either the Front or Back Storeroom. No relocation benefit is offered for this position. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: u2022 You will utilize computer and perform cycle counts of components. Analyze cycle count information to determine root cause and corrective action. Resolve all errors by research and auditing of transactions. u2022 You will operate forklifts and cranes to transport and locate equipment and materials to required areas. u2022 You will receive, document, store stage and issue all job-related material to satisfy production requirements. u2022 You will support assembly and fabrication requirements for materials as needed. u2022 You will package, create and band equipment, parts, materials, products and accessories to minimize damage during shipment or staging. u2022 You will apply labels, stickers, stencils as required for identification and ease of storage or shipping. u2022 You will comply with all safety and industrial hygiene requirements, including proper use of personal protective equipment and operation of equipment in a safe and competent manner. Understand and meet all departmental safety objectives and goals. u2022 You will perform routine preventative maintenance when required to ensure peak performance of all manufacturing equipment. Qualifications: BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: u2022 Forklift and/or crane operation experience to transport and locate equipment and materials to required areas. u2022 Broad range of knowledge in materials planning, scheduling, receiving, shipping, and tracking systems. u2022 High school diploma or GED required from an accredited institution. u2022 Only candidates residing within the immediate area of Sumter (50 miles) will be considered for this position. u2022 Must be legally authorized to work in the US on a permanent basis without company sponsorship. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: u2022 Computer literate. u2022 Working knowledge of Lean concepts. u2022 Knowledge of processes and procedures related to steel and bus fabrication, purchasing, receiving, shipping, and inventory control. u2022 Computer skills to include Excel, Word, DMM, AS400, Mapics,Vista, & Outlook. Skills: POSITION CRITERIA: u2022 Must be able to multi-task and balance various demands while achieving goals u2022 Must demonstrate a collaborative style and work effectively in a diverse environment u2022 Must be a self-starter capable of working with minimum supervision and capable of solving various problems as unusual circumstances arise through interfacing with other departments u2022 Ability to deal with both internal and external suppliers in a professional manner u2022 Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in teams across plant and corporate entities u2022 Self-motivated and results oriented; strong organizational skills u2022 Exhibit a strong adherence to quality by continually seeking methods of improvement for all functions of the position. Ensure that all products and parts adequately meet Eatonu2019s quality guidelines as they move throughout the production process. Perform quality checks as instructed. u2022 Ability to keep assigned work-area clean and organized per 5S standards. Additional Information: Expected to work with some degree of independence and make decisions that affect the workgroup. Focus efforts on attaining assigned goals and objectives, which include meeting needs and expectations of internal and external customers. WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to noise and frequently exposed to dust.
