How will you power whatu2019s possible? Job Summary Location: Carrollton, GA (HQ) or Atlanta Battery office Southwire is seeking to hire an experienced employment and labor law attorney. The Senior Counsel position is responsible for providing advice and counsel to the Company on a broad range of employment and labor legal issues and managing disputes against Southwire and its affiliated and subsidiary companies. The Senior Counsel will be part of a team of legal professionals with a mission to deliver top-quality, strategic and cost-conscious legal solutions to business issues, leveraging technology to increase efficiency and drive value to the organization. The ideal candidate is a hands-on, proactive partner who can support a wide assortment of day-to-day needs and long-term projects. Key Responsibilities + Provide sound legal advice and counsel to Southwire in complex U.S. and international employment and labor law matters affecting day-to-day operations by assisting, advising, investigating, researching and resolving legal and business matters. + Manage employment and labor disputes, including lawsuits and complaints filed with federal, state, and local agencies. + Assist in the development and implementation of People and Culture processes and policies to address company needs and legal requirements. + Support the Total Rewards Team responsible for health & welfare, retirement and compensation benefits. + Conduct Merger & Acquisition Employment and Labor Law Due Diligence and Integration + Lead, support and advise on workplace investigations. + Draft and negotiate various employment related agreements. + Partner with the business to assess legal risks and develop strategic solutions to protect the Companyu2019s interests; Ensure key information is communicated to necessary stakeholders. + Effectively oversee outside counsel, including developing strategies which align with and achieve the Companyu2019s strategic business objectives, coordinating with the appropriate Southwire subject matter experts, and defining the Companyu2019s desired outcomes. + Manage a high-volume of legal projects. Required Education & Experience Minimum Education Level: Doctorate Specialized Degree: Juris Doctorate from U.S. law school Certificates: State bar membership in good standing in at least one state. Years of Experience: 10Field of Expertise: Employment and Labor Law Qualifications and Experience + Doctorate, Juris Doctorate from U.S. accredited law school + State bar membership in good standing in at least one state + 10+ yrs related experience, Employment and Labor Law + Outstanding communication skills (both oral and written) + Excellent interpersonal skills Ability to meet deadlines, possess pragmatic business judgment, work independently and collaboratively and efficiently under time pressure.
