SUMMARY DESCRIPTION: The Teacher is responsible for ensuring the care and education of a group of children as a part of a teaching team.u00a0 They assist with the planning and implementation of the curriculum. u00a0u00a0 PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:u00a0u00a0 Maintains a Safe and Healthy Environmentu00a0 + Maintain safe and orderly learning environment.u00a0 + Promote healthy eating practices by eating with children.u00a0 + Help children maintain proper dental hygiene according to regulations.u00a0 + Post necessary health and safety information.u00a0 + Share routine duties with other staff (supervision on playground, toileting, cleanup, classroom maintenance).u00a0 + Assist in keeping room and other areas neat and clean.u00a0 + Interact with children in activities they are supervising.u00a0 + Perform health checks on children daily.u00a0 + Perform daily classroom and playground safety checks and report deficiencies to Lead Teacher.u00a0 + Perform appropriate hand developmental stages to plan age-appropriate activities.u00a0 u00a0u00a0 Supports Social and Emotional Development and Provides Positive Guidanceu00a0 + Plan and implement hands-on activities that in required job skills and knowledge.u00a0 + Exhibit ability to learn and apply new skills.u00a0 + Maintain current knowledge of trends and best practices in ECE.u00a0 + Ability to work independently Early Childhood Education or closely related field preferredu00a0 u00a0u00a0 PHYSICAL DEMANDS:u00a0u00a0 The Teacher may be expected to:u00a0u00a0 + Lift and carry children and equipment, 30lbs unassisted and 50lbs with assistance.u00a0u00a0 + Capability to sit on the floor and stand up independently to interact with children.u00a0 + Clean and maintain equipment and the center.u00a0u00a0 + Take precautions to ensure the health and safety of all children, parents, and staff due to the potential exposure to anyone who may be ill and/or contagious.u00a0 + Work in a busy and occasionally noisy environment where there may be a number of activities and situations happening at once.u00a0 + Ability to use arms and legs and moving their whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.u00a0 + Ability to learn/use technology.u00a0 + Ability to pass a hearing test.u00a0 + Visually observe children from all areas of the classroom and playground from a distance of at least 20 feet.u00a0 u00a0u00a0 SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:u00a0u00a0u00a0u00a0 Background check, fingerprinting, and drug test are required prior to hire date.u00a0 Caring for children can be stressful. The Lead Teacher must ensure that children are supervised at all times, and that children are involved in safe and appropriate activities.
