(ref. Code 76317 in Seattle, WA.u00a0Duties: Support Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Layout for Server Boards and Cards for customers in the Cloud Computing and Hyperscale Industry by component placement, connection routing, designing of the printed circuit board to mechanical constraints, layer stack-up, and development of fabrication requirements. Work directly with Board Design Team and Architects to support layout studies, create custom library parts, and develop PCB Stack-ups. Support Computer Aided Design (CAD) Layout studies to show feasibility for Server board, card, and system concepts by developing solutions to show feasible component placements and determining if the resulting designs can be routed withing the number of layers, length, and spacing constraints. Work with Board Design Engineers and Signal Integrity Engineers to support constraint-driven design by working from component vendor and industry standard design requirements to develop constraints within the CAD board layout software database for critical signals. Drive Design For Manufacturing (DFM) and Design For Testability (DFT) processes consistent with ZT's Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA) and Fab vendors' requirements. Create custom library parts (outside of standard Common Library), to support accelerating layout studies. Work with PCB vendors on stack-up proposals, materials, impedance rules, mechanical considerations, and resolve DFM issues. Support overlay and review of Gerbers/Artwork. Interface with cross-functional departments: Signal Integrity Engineering, Power Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Assembly & Test, and Quality Assurance (QA) group. Review Customer board designs and provide feedback for layout improvements, layer reductions, and/or cost reduction opportunities.REQUIREMENTS: Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering or related field of study.u00a0 Five (5) years of experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role.
