This Associate willplay a key role in solving clients' most critical senior technologyneeds, focusing on Chief Information Officer searches, and workingacross a wide range of industries. With exposure to a broad set ofclients and leadership challenges, this Associate will help to identifyand develop diverse candidate slates as an essential member of thesearch team. The Associate role combines research, assessment, andrelationship-building skills to deliver extraordinary service and valueto Spencer Stuart clients.Successful candidates for the Associate position will have strongproject management ability, writing skills, results orientation,rigorous attention to details, and intellectual curiosity. The Associatewill enjoy the challenge of working internally with a variety ofConsultants, and externally with diverse, senior-level executives andboard members. Associates will be expected to acquire deep andinsightful candidate pool knowledge over time.The Associate will be based in Chicago.There is an expectation of being in the office a minimum of two days aweek. In the early stages, it will be beneficial for the individual tospend more time in the office to build relationships, engage withcolleagues and participate in the local office community.KEY RELATIONSHIPSReports to: Technology & Digital Officer Practice LeaderConsultants (on an assignment basis)Other key Associate Practice Leaderrelationships: Market LeaderAnalysts, Associates, Senior Associates, and ConsultantsEEA'sHuman Resources Business Partner (HRBP)KEY RESPONSIBILITIESContribute actively to the start-up phase of each search byparticipating in client kick-off meetings with the Consultant andassisting in the development of the position specification, searchstrategy and target list of companies.Gather relevant information regarding the appropriate industries andtarget companies. Identify potential prospects and sources and representthe client effectively in the marketplace, discussing the opportunitywith relevant executives.Validate potential candidates through reference and source calls.Partner with the Consultant to develop and present a slate of qualifiedcandidates to each client. Anticipate what needs to drive the search toclosure and be prepared to supply additional information, such asrelated industry/segment trends, market findings, reaction to theopportunity, compensation data, etc., gained during the course of asearch.Contribute to the preparation of position specifications, candidatepresentations and reference reports adhering to the Firm's municate effectively with the Consultant and Executive Assistant, andremain fully abreast of search developments, in order to communicateaccurately and credibly regarding the assignment.Prepare organized information for client updates/meetings by teamingwith the Consultant and the Executive Assistant.
