Refrigeration Technician

Job Title: Refrigeration Technician Up to $47+ an hour Job Description This Refrigeration Technician position is responsible for overseeing the safe operation, daily monitoring, and maintenance of the plant utilities equipment. This includes managing an ammonia refrigeration system, boilers, water treatment systems, cooling towers, pumps, compressors, HVAC systems, and more. The role requires frequent interaction with various maintenance department employees and other departments. Assistance is provided to the Maintenance Manager to ensure assets are managed according to relevant codes and standards, focusing on ammonia refrigeration experience and PSM compliance. Responsibilities + Ensure the safe and efficient operation of the ammonia refrigeration system and other plant utilities. + Monitor and analyze system performance and data to determine maintenance needs. + Complete assigned preventive maintenance tasks and documentation of contractor activities. + Support and maintain the PSM Program and provide training to Maintenance Technicians. + Participate as a member of the Emergency Response Team. + Ensure machinery runs smoothly and address any issues promptly. Essential Skills + Minimum of 5 years of experience operating industrial ammonia refrigeration systems. + Mechanical proficiency in troubleshooting, repairing, and operating plant systems. + Experience with multi-stage ammonia compression systems. + Skills in electrical troubleshooting, maintenance repair, and mechanical troubleshooting. + Ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints.
