At iHeartMedia we are dedicated to building a diverse, inclusive, and authentic workplace and are looking for teammates passionate about what we do What We Need: iHeartMedia is looking for an experienced Assistant Program Director/Music Director for 97.1 WASH-FM (Mainstream AC). This qualified individual will work closely with the program directors, sales account executives, and stations within the iHeartMedia Washington D.C. Cluster. What You'll Do: + Assist the Director by coordinating with Programming and Sales to plan and execute marketing, promotions, events and image campaigns + Schedule Music Logs for stations including 97.1 WASH-FM + Monitor programming activities in conformance with FCC rules and regulations, iHeartMedia policy and applicable federal, state and local laws + Inform Program Director of any anomalies or deficiencies that may warrant correction or resolution + Coordinate reviews and approvals for commercial and paid programming content + Establish and maintain professional relationships with producers, artistsu2019 managers, composers and other industry contacts + Assist in preparation and management of departmentu2019s budget by overseeing expenditures and maintaining invoice records and related documentation + Adequately prepare for an on-air shift with use of creativity, imagination and exercise of independent professional judgment in writing, producing, interviewing, taping or broadcasting of on-air material + Ensure logged commercials, promotions and any other programming essential to the stations operation are aired + Adhere to all company policies and procedures regarding indecency and obscenity + Keep up to date with relevant material appropriate for the station + Participate in regular listening/air check sessions for critique with the Program Director + Make regular approved appearances at station events + Work flexible hours and weekends and be on call for possible disasters, breaking news or acts of nature + Monitor record label calls, schedule music and check social media to ensure music remains consistent with stationu2019s brand, and may collaborate with production to provide musical direction and options that meet editorial scope What You'll Need: + Multiple years experience as an assistant program director or program director in a Major Market + Considerable experience in an operational role across sales, marketing, operations, finance, or other industry + Knowledge of Nexgen, G-Selector and Sound + Systems + Demonstrated strong experience in Microsoft Office and social media platforms + Extensive knowledge of FCC broadcast rules and regulations, knowledge of federal, state and local contesting rules and regulations + Knowledge and appreciation of diverse music genres + Demonstrated ability to be engaging on the air and to work across various formats; is upbeat, informative and entertaining, and can relate to stationu2019s audience + High degree of planning and organizing skills; can multitask and meet specific deadlines in a fast-paced environment + Flexible, creative and innovating in using technology to deepen listener relationships + Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others + Superior oral and written communication skills; excellent grammar, can adjust communications style based on audience needs + Valid driveru2019s license and clean driving record required What You'll Bring: + Respect for others and a strong belief that others should do this in return + Full proficiency and understanding of job function + Open communication with colleagues and direct reports that encourages collaboration and team consensus + Strong problem solving skills + Efficiency with independent work under minimal guidance + Commitment to process improvement for overall team effectiveness + Professional communication that stresses diplomacy, empathy and patience Compensation: Salary to be determined by multiple factors including but not limited to relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications, and alignment with market data. $49,600 - $62,000 Location: Rockville, MD: 1801 Rockville Pike, 4th Floor, 20852 Position Type: Regular Time Type: Full time Pay Type: Salaried Benefits: iHeartMediau2019s benefits offering is flexible and offers a variety of choices to meet the diverse needs of our changing workforce, including the following: + Employer sponsored medical, dental and vision with a variety of coverage options + Company provided and supplemental life insurance + Paid vacation and sick time + Paid company holidays + A Spirit day to encourage and allow our employees to more easily volunteer in their community + A 401K plan + Employee Assistance Program (EAP) at no cost u2013 services include telephonic counseling sessions, consultation on legal and financial matters, emotional well-being, family and caregiving + u200bA range of additional voluntary programs, such as spending accounts, student loan refinancing, accident insurance and more We are accepting applications for this role on an ongoing basis.
