PositionOverview The Scientist I, Process Development and Automation providesservices of a technical nature to support the development,implementation, and maintenance of automation, IT, and software systemsused in the clinical laboratory. The Scientist I, Process Developmentand Automation will perform moderate and highly complex analyticalprocesses to support feasibility and validation studies. This includeswet lab testing for feasibility, verification and validation of labautomation, workflows and software. This role will also be responsiblefor performing user acceptance testing (UAT), and validation ofLaboratory information system (LIS) system changes and upgrades. Thisrole will collaborate with end users and LIS developers to addressneeded improvements to current modules, design requirements for new testsystems, validation, and implementation of the changes. Role isbeginning to make significant contributions in the requirementsgathering, development, testing and implementation of new technologiesand/or automated platforms. Essential Duties Include, but are notlimited to, the following: Assist in UAT testing. Applies definedprotocols and procedures; conducts moderate level testing activities anddata analysis. Applies technical knowledge to develop company productsand to recommend product enhancements. Able to troubleshoot anomalies.Conducts moderately complex scientific design, platform eligibilitytesting, systems integration, or performance testing. Able to trainothers on the proper use of Exact Sciences equipment. Exercisesindependent judgment within generally defined practices and proceduresin selecting methods and techniques of obtaining solutions. Able torecognize need for deviation. Scenario based decision making. Able topresent, organize and convey problems or issues across functional areaswithin the same product line/platform/business organization.
