JOB SUMMARY Operate the slitterwhile following customer quality specifications, ensuring dimensions,sizes of rolls, quantity and print quality are accurate. Performrework/rewinding of rolls with identified defects from primaryoperations. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Prepares finished product toship according to customer requirements Monitor and direct theactivities of the Slitter Assistant by monitoring their work andadvising and/or guiding as needed Train Slitter Assistant to acomfortable level of proficiency that will allow them to run throughbreaks and fill-in as an operator as needed Work with supervision,planning and Quality to get rework completed efficiently Ensure properand accurate set up of the machine including the following: Review jobfolder and data on computer regarding job Use hoist to hang rolls Reviewblueprints and complete slitting checklist to obtain accurate customerspecifications Set web guides and knives pursuant to customerspecifications Wipe rollers with alcohol, adjust gauges, adjust cores orspacers and put lay down arms on slitter Prepare machine (checkspecifications) for next job by reviewing job folder and data oncomputer Ensure machine is operating according to process specificationsWatch for wrinkles, voids, print quality, and fisheyes on current jobrunning Record sets on AS400 and daily totals on scoreboards as requiredSet footage counter, hang rolls, cut out press stops and splices Cutcores as required Take sets off slitter and put cores on slitter Obtainand deliver samples as agreed upon to the lab for Quality Assurance Helpassistants by labelling, bagging, and putting away sets as time permitsAssist with rewind/rework operations as necessary Follow all safetyrules Complete other duties as assigned by Manufacturing Supervisor Thisjob/role is responsible for helping the site meet their qualityobjectives. Other duties as assigned REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Proficientmathematical and measurement skills. Knowledge of metric conversions 1-2years slitter assistant experience preferred Ability to run multiple jobsimultaneously Ability to handle project-type work while workingindividually with little supervision Experience working with productioncomputer software Broad knowledge of product and customer specificationsMechanical knowledge of and ability to adjust gauges, scales and handtools Strong attention to detail Microsoft Suite knowledge LANGUAGESKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules,operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability towrite routine reports and legibly complete time cards and work orders.Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and readblueprints and technical drawings, such as machine, mechanical,pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical. Ability to effectively presentinformation in one-on-one and small groups situations to other employeesof the organization. Ability to effective present information andrespond to questions form groups of managers, clients, customers, andthe general public. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract,multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, commonfractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, geometry, fractions,percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. REASONINGABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety o variable in situations where only limited standardization exists.Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written,oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to define problems, collectdata, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpretan extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical ordiagram form.
