This role is for a Classified Linux IT Systems Engineer with a focus on supporting Linux systems for the Infrared Search and Track (IRST) program. Candidates are not expected to have all the desired skills but should be passionate in learning many of the skills listed. u2022 System administration of networks using Linux integrated into Windows Server Active Directory Domains u2022 Coordinate and complete system upgrades and patching u2022 Maintain system cyber compliance u2022 Perform guidance and management for hardware, including diagnostics, troubleshooting, and maintenance on multiple architectures u2022 Ensure the integrity and availability of applications as well as coordinate new application installations, upgrades, and customer support in classified areas u2022 Responsible for implementing effective backup/recovery, resource accounting, and auditing procedures u2022 Full-time onsite role, working the majority of the day in closed areas Basic Qualifications: u2022 Active Secret Clearance u2022 Ability to maintain a security clearance, and customers' acceptance u2022 Must possess or be able to obtain within 6 months of start date a valid IAT Level II or III DoD Approved 8140 (DoD 8570) certification such as Security+, in good standing u2022 Knowledge and experience with Linux distributions and environments u2022 Scripting ability (yaml, powershell, bash, shell) u2022 Experience with VS code or Visual Studios u2022 Demonstrated experience effectively performing in a fast paced, dynamic environment u2022 Ability to work through technical, project, operational, and resource challenges u2022 Proven business acumen to manage multiple assignments and projects with the ability to balance technical requirements with business needs and affordability u2022 Demonstrated collaboration, including interpersonal and teaming skills Desired Skills: u2022 Active Secret or Top Secret security clearance (investigation within the past 5 years) u2022 Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) u2022 Experience with Kubernetes and container technologies such as Docker, AppTainer, and Podman u2022 Experience building and/or working with hypervisors and in virtual environments, such as VMWare, KVM, Hyper-V, etc. u2022 Experience with windows active directory u2022 Experience with layer 2 and layer 3 networking concepts u2022 Experience with storage appliances u2022 Experience with SELinux u2022 Knowledge and experience implementing technical requirements on multiple operating systems for NISPOM Chapter-8, JAFAN, JSIG, DoD RMF, and other protection level caveats Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration. Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
