Reference #: 4935RK&K is seeking a Construction Manager to join our Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) and Construction Management (CM) team in Harrisburg, PA. u00a0As a Construction Manager on RK&K's team, you will manage construction projects for our clients. Our primary clients are PennDOT Districts 5 & 8 and the PA Turnpike.Essential FunctionsManage assigned elements of projects as an owner's representative to ensure contract complianceServe as a communication liaison between field staff, contractor, design team, federal and state agencies, and citizensReview and understand the project plans, contract documents, specifications and standardsProvide technical guidance to the client and ensure the final product is quality workProvide thorough constructability reviews for projects at 30%, 60%, and 90% designUpdate and track financial information including cost projections for projects. Make recommendations related to partial and final contractor payments. Prepare and conduct entitlement determinations, independent cost estimates, time impact recommendations and documentation related to project change ordersTrack project schedule and make recommendationsConduct project meetings to include preconstruction meetings, utility coordination meetings, progress meetings and pre-activity meetingsPrepare project management correspondence and reviews recommendations made by project staff.Manage the Project Close-out process, including as-builts, final quantities and final acceptanceFocus attention on the success of key project elements: Safety & Environmental, Quality, Schedule and CostInteract and build relationshipsRequired Skills and ExperienceHigh School diploma or equivalentA minimum of seven (7) years of experience managing heavy civil infrastructure construction, providing construction inspection or construction management experience.PennDOT experience (preferred) or Federal, municipal, or other DOT experienceConstruction management experience in roadway, utilities, and structuresAbility to read & interpret roadway plans & specificationsUnderstanding of contractor means & methods and materialsUnderstanding of QA/QC development and execution processUnderstanding RFI and Submittal Processes as well as experience running project meetings and developing meeting minutesFamiliarity with interpreting contract specifications, standards, etcFunctional computer usage including familiarity with ECMS, PPCC, and Microsoft Office suite software.Acceptable driving recordKnowledge and understanding of project controls (CPM scheduling, cost estimating, claim analysis)Preferred Skills and ExperienceB.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering or related fieldCertified Construction Manager (CCM)NICET Level 3 or higher in Transportation / Highway ConstructionE.I.T. or P.E. licenseContractor, Inspection, or Management experience on PennDOT projects.Other DutiesThis job description indicates the general nature and levels of work, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other essential functions (as covered under ADA).
